For many people, living with Covid didn’t end when the test turned negative.
Weeks turned into months. Months into ongoing symptoms; fatigue that doesn’t lift, brain fog that makes simple tasks feel overwhelming, breathlessness and a sense of not quite feeling like yourself anymore.
At HybO2 House, this isn’t something we just read about. It’s something we see every month.
Long Covid: What We’re Seeing in The Clinic
Each month, we review why people come to HybO2 House.
Consistently, Long Covid is the most common reason that clients seek support.
Not because it’s quick or easy, but because many people feel stuck. They’ve rested, waited and tried to push through, yet recovery still feels out of reach.
By the time they arrive, most aren’t looking for promises. They’re looking for understanding, structure and a way to gently support their body forward.
The Emotional Weight of Long Covid
Living with Long Covid often means living with uncertainty.
Not knowing how long systems will last. Not recognising your own energy levels. Feeling frustrated, dismissed or disconnected from the life you once had.
We regularly hear:
“I just don’t feel like myself anymore.”
“I’m exhausted all the time.”
“I want my life back.”
These experiences matter. And they deserve to be acknowledged.
Where Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) fits in
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) involves breathing near-pure oxygen in a pressurised environment, allowing high levels of oxygen to be present in every dimension of the body’s cellular make up. From soft tissue (including bones) to brain and blood.
HBOT is used worldwide to support tissue oxygenation, cellular repair and overall recovery processes. For people living with Long Covid it is increasingly being explored as a supportive therapy, with some clients reporting improvements in energy, clarity, overall wellbeing and even full recovery.
A Long Covid Recovery Journey (Client Experience)
One Long Covid client shared how their experience with HBOT unfolded gradually:
“The first few sessions left me completely exhausted. It wasn’t until around session five that my energy started to return. And from there, things steadily improved.”
Later they described a moment that felt deeply emotional:
“After months of struggling to breathe properly, I realised I could finally take a full, deep breath again, without pain! I actually cried.”
Why People with Long Covid Choose HBOT
Alongside lived experience, emerging research is helping explain why some people with Long Covid are drawn to HBOT as part of their recovery.
+ Quality of life: In patient follow ups, around 56-63% of people reported a meaningful improvement in overall quality of life after completing a course of HBOT, particularly in energy and physical functioning.
+ Brain fog & focus: Clinical studies have shown improvements in attention, concentration, sleep quality and mental fatigue following HBOT.
+ Fatigue & confidence: Smaller studies report reductions in fatigue and improved confidence in breathing and activity.
Results vary and improvements are often gradual. HBOT isn’t a quick fix, but for many it feels like a proactive way to support recovery when waiting feels impossible.
For this reason, HBOT is often used alongside medical care, rest, nutrition and nervous system support.
You’re Not Alone
Long Covid recovery isn’t linear, and there’s no single solution or timeline.
At HybO2 House, our role is not to promise outcomes but to provide education, support and a calm, welcoming space to explore whether HBOT may be suitable for you.
If you’re living with Long Covid and feeling stuck, exhausted or unsure where to turn next, we’re here to listen and provide a platform to assist your recovery journey.
